Christmas Break

Today is the last day of Christmas break... It makes me sad.  We've had an awesome two weeks, filled with family, friends and WAY too many toys :)

Christmas at the lake was relaxing and fun!  We lounged around in our pj's the entire weekend, ate way too much food, and were spoiled rotten by Papa.

Pretty excited about presents!
Look at those boots!
His first Christmas experience!
Christmas at home was AMAZING!  It was our first year to stay home for Christmas day, and it was everything I dreamed it would be.  Pajamas, junk food and movies.  Of course we had to go out and look at the newly poured foundation, but that was totally worth leaving the house for!

New blanket!

I was a decoration scrooge again this year and took down all of our decorations Christmas night.  My neck and back muscles immediately start relaxing the minute the decorations start coming down.  Weird, I know, but it makes this momma feel lots better.

Lee, Ashley, Tate and Rhet came into town on Thursday night, Belinda and Brandon came in on Friday night.  The boys went quail hunting on Friday, and I didn't get a single text picture :-/

We had our Christmas on Sunday and it was filled with food, wine, lots of laughter and fun memories!  We had the best time hanging out with family.  I'm so thankful that we get to do this at least once a year!

Ty's "Lion Habitat Project" was successfully completed on Thursday.  Rusty is super embarrassed that we would finish it almost an entire month early, but I know it will make our life (read: my life) so much smoother, and I'm SO happy it is done!  Plus, it turned out SUPER cute!

He worked very hard and made momma very proud!
We went to the Texas Tech Museum to see the model train exhibit.  The kids LOVED the museum!  I forget that we ALWAYS have a great experience there.  I really should take them more often...  They have new exhibits all the time, and the kids LOVE the dinosaurs!  Plus, we got a bonus picture with a real (stuffed) African lion. Perfect for Ty's project!

Just checking out the model trains...
The "penny swirly" exhibit is ALWAYS the best!
We had such a blessed break from school.  I love these unscheduled, spontaneous days almost as much the routine days :)  Poor Allie is going to miss her playing buddy, and I'm going to miss his sweet smiling face during the day.  Off to school tomorrow.
